❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How to calculate GPA from marks in Nepal?

Enter your marks (0–100) for each subject, select your institution (NEB, TU, KU, or PU), and click Calculate. The calculator converts marks to grade points using the official scale, then computes GPA = Σ(Grade Point × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours.

What is 75 marks in GPA in Nepal?

75 marks = B+ grade in NEB (70–79 range) = 3.2 grade point. In TU semester system, 75 marks = B+ = 3.3 grade point. Percentage = 75%. Using GPA × 25: 3.2 × 25 = 80% (NEB scale). See: GPA to % guide.

What is 80 marks in GPA in Nepal?

80 marks = A grade in NEB (80–89% range) = 3.6 grade point. In TU semester system: 80 marks = A− = 3.7 grade point. Full guide: 3.2 GPA = 80% guide.

How are theory and practical marks combined in NEB?

For NEB subjects with practicals: theory credit hours = 4.69, practical credit hours = 1.56 (total = 6.25). Subject GPA = (Theory GP × 4.69 + Practical GP × 1.56) ÷ 6.25. Theory must independently score 35%+ or the subject is NG regardless of practical marks.

What is the minimum GPA to pass in Nepal?

NEB (SEE and Class 12): minimum Grade D+ (1.6 GPA, 35%) per subject. TU semester: Grade D (1.7 GPA, 40%) per subject and CGPA 2.0 to graduate. KU: 50% minimum (C grade). PU: CGPA 2.0 (undergraduate).

Can I print my GPA result from this calculator?

Yes. After calculating, click the Print Result button. A clean, formatted result card (similar to a marksheet) will print with your GPA, percentage, grade, division, and subject-wise breakdown. You can also save as PDF.

Is this calculator accurate for Nepal universities?

Yes. This calculator uses the official NEB grading scale (verified from NEB guidelines) and TU semester grading (A=4.0, A−=3.7, B+=3.3 etc.). For NEB practicals, the official 75:25 (theory:practical) credit-hour split is applied. Always verify with your official marksheet for formal purposes.
